Down the lane to Septankulam.

The last time I set foot on the soil of Septankulam was 5 years ago. As far as i know, this place has to be the most remotely located place I have ever visited until today. Located deep inside Thiruvanmalai district, the village boasts of one thing, Culture. Unlike chennai, Septankulam has only 8 streets which makes it more of a place to shed your thoughts and introspection with less human interactions. In this blog post I will write some exciting experiences in about the place where most of my summer where spent. Let me start with one thing which most of us have dreamt of doing in city.

Counting Stars...

I would sit on folding chairs laid on mud floor with my two brothers and chat uselessly . The talks where not about some fictitious characters from GoT or some random English series. It was always about real characters who were peculiar like the "Yellow helmet headed PK". Every topic takes diversions and ends with one thing. STARS. We,at that age knew two things about space, one Stars and the other one is satellite. It makes me feel dumb when I think about an act which i would do everytime I see a blinking star.. I shout "I spotted a Satellite!!" jumping off from my chair. Spotting stars has become a very rare occasion in cities because of the pollution and the fast paced lives of people. And when I took a glance at the sky lying on "Motta Maadi", I realized how much I missed nature and its spontaneity in capturing minds.

Ramayana and Mahabharata

As a child,I dwelled in my own dream town. I had always liked stories not because of its entertaining factor but because of the way it was told to me. My grandpa is a grandiloquent ( remove the pompous factor). I can still hear his chuckle when he says those Tenali Raman stories and also his work experience. He was a Commercial Tax Officer during his days and he used to tell me the stories of his working days. He has travelled all over TN and he used to tell me the about the people over there. These were my stories until I was 6th.

Then one fine day,he asked me" do you know Ramayana?".. I was like "What is it :P". From then on, it took him 12 days to tell Ramayana from Head to Toe. Daily 6 pm-7 pm,Ramayana was my schedule. With my grandpa ,I would sit on a folding chair outside our house, enjoying the breeze, letting my mind grasp the ethos that were told in Ramayana. He also told me Mahabharata which took him 25 days. Inspired by the plot which was more complex than GoT, I took a Mahabharata book from him and finished it in 3 days.

There are more stories and fun-filled experiences in Septankulam. I will write about those experiences in future posts.

The Complete Painting

Is it a Dog? nah.. Looks like something different. Ok, the center one looks more or less like a donkey but also a horse! So is it a hybrid? What on earth has Picasso painted. This is the most arbitrary painting I have come across. I couldn't find its head or its tail.

The output of Pablo Picasso's painting is solely because of the end of what painters call the Impressionist era where painters believed in WYSWYG (What You See is What You Get). The era of painters actually thought of producing their paintings with more colours, wierd angle projections. This Era also made painters not stick to a particular contour and paint. In Simple Words, Paint freely as you like.

Then came what we call Cubism wherein Geometrical shapes constituted the paintings.Pablo Picasso is believed to have co-founded this movement of cubism. This was a major transitional phase in the style of painting because Impressionism lasted nearly half a decade and this movement just ended that style.

Then came the Era of Surrealism, To bridge the gap between dream and reality. It is said that this surrealism was an aftermath of WW1. Painters in this time started to believe in Automatism. This was the time when random brush strokes were converted to master pieces. This era also made painters express their subconscious through random brush strokes. Picasso's Guernica came in this period.

Blood Art

From What Picasso said, Half the time he just painted what he had in his mind in the Guernica. Guernica was not painted to showcase what Picasso can do. But it was a result of outburst of Picasso's inner voice to show contempt on the Bombing,in fact the first of its kind an "Aerial Bombing" in Spain.

What happened in Guernica(City in Spain) was a carnage. 3 hours of brutal attack that devastated the hopes  of people on the market day. 61 years later Germany apologized for this action. But there is something special about this painting  Guernica. The picture makes us forget the history because of its awesomeness.

Abstractness define brilliancy when it comes to showcasing talent
Though we consider the painting as the symbol to objection to Bombing, its awe inspiring display makes us forget the history behind the strokes.

Why about Guernica?

There used to be art classes in my school days and I not being her fan,had always hated the class for no reason. Everytime, I draw some random crap she would say "நீ என்ன பிக்காசோ வா ?"
I then looked upon this wonderful artist and his works. Guernica attracted me the most because then, I did not know the history behind those randomly contrived strokes. But now, I know the history and I could see beneath those strokes. To me that makes the painting complete. It is the spectator, who can see the reason behind these arbitrary colours, curvy lines can complete the artist's thought process and get the idea which the creator wants to convey. Who knows, One day researchers can say Da Vinci painted Mona Lisa thinking of his Wife!

Every piece of legendary has some obscure source of inspiration. We people need to find it so that we  can see the real background picture.

Meaning :

This is one of my favourites. So what does it say?

One must always have a thought in his mind that the world is huge and atleast there is one person in this world who knows a bit extra than what he/she knows. More than that, One must always respect that person instead of considering them as an opponent. One good example is one of the great F1 racer Nikki Lauda. He had a fierce rival with James Hunt and Hunt had a rival with him. Both knew that on his day he can beat him but they both respected each other and thats why they both stand out. Thiruvalluvar also adds if one is not like what I just explained, then there is no use in learning and being a champion.

We all know at the end, its all about #respect.

Lets Define Love!

"I fell in love the way you fall asleep : Slowly and then all at once."
                                                              - John Green, The Fault in Our stars.

I don't know why but of all quotes this had me bewitched. Of the Two reasons, one is that it talks about sleep. Second, the way I read even i fell in love for this statement.

Why do we at first point define something abstract i.e Love ?

The answer lies in the our day to day instances like if we take a definition of some unknown entity be it a term, we first search for the definition in google or some medium to get to know a clear idea of what is it. But of all known entities, Love which we get from our mother, friends we don't get to define it in . Isn't injustice shown by humanity towards the term Love which again defines Humanity?

Okay! Fault accepted. How do we define an entity like Love, which on its stem has branches like care, friendship, kindness all the feelings which portray a sense of attachment between the souls that wander the roads of this universe.

The word love is mainly used as an indication that a person of one sex has a unintentional desire over a person of opposite sex with sexual desires. This we can call as passionate Love.

There is another kind which science defines as Platonic Love. It defines a affectionate relationship between two heterosexual people where the sexual elements doesn't enter.

In an Universe where people are striving hard to find out the missing 7 dimensions to prove strange theories, we here ( I  here) am striving to find out the definition of something as abstract as the 7 dimensions.  When I saw how to define a subject on internet, It had a statement which said define by its source. I thought OK!

Where can I Find Love!

The most trivial answer to this question is "Love is Everywhere! Love is in the air you breathe". On hearing this my mind stated one obvious Sheldon Cooper's rhetoric Answer : "Wrong. Nitrogen,Oxygen,Carbon Dioxide, Argon is in the air." Jokes apart, where do we find Love?  Its again the most relatively localized entity. My mother shows love towards me,so does my sister, so does my best friend. Now,I can say one thing after that statement. My definition of love varies according to the source. But my aim here is to find a universal definition.

Okay. I can now tell I can't define love from its source. But I can define love relative to its source which will not be ultimate. Most people go by the defining love as the affection showed by Mother. In my opinion, that is because of the magnitude of that love which is singular.

Another statement said that begin the definition with what it is not instead of what it is!.

Amazing Idea. But for defining what is not love I need to know What is love? Because I believe that the concept of hate came after the concept of Love.

Having taken several factors for defining this Abstract entity, I will define Love as
"The Factor which provides that extra '1' in the operation of subtraction ( a-b) of positive numbers(a,b| b>a), to make that operation possible."
I believe,I thereby with my simple definition have quantized an abstract quantity and also defined it relatively like Sheldon Cooper.

There are 3 definitions for love in japanese culture :

1. ai () - Maternal Love.
2. koi ()- Romantic Love
3. ren'ai (恋愛)- Combines the meaning of both 1 and 2.

Love is all about making things comfortable and also compatible. This blog post is just an attempt to quantify and measure that beautiful extra '1'.

Friday 23 October 2015

Hi all,

This is my probably 10th blog. I have decided to stop using Google's bandwidth there after. I will keep posting my views on anything which I feel need to be shared and 'opinioned'. I will also post world's Bible/Gheeta/Kuran , Thirukural each day with its meaning. Hope you all have a great time with my blog.

And yea, I start with the first Thirukural No.1.

Kural :

Meaning :

As the alphabets start with the letter A, Our world's every activity starts with The Almighty. Lets Pray good for all and good for us.

If you have any contrary opinions, Mail me! :)
